Leviticus 19:18 “Do not seek reveng or bear a grudge against anyone among your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.”
When someone hurts us, it’s like they are saying “you don’t matter”, or “I don’t like you”, or “your not important to me”….. It’s easy to hold on to that.
Who cares what they think. Your only concern is what God thinks. He’s not happy with you for holding a grudge. And what others think of you is none of your business. Sometimes you have to let it go. You have to move on. It’s not easy but that’s what God wants and He’s your king and He’s in charge. We gave Him the reigns (when you asked Him in and got dunked!) and He gladly took them. He knows better and He sees more than we do.
Actually allowing Him to be in charge is really hard. Humans are, for the most part, absolute control freaks.
I always ask my daughter “who’s in charge here?”.
She points to herself.
No G-Money, it ain’t you.
Having trouble letting go? Having trouble allowing God to control everthing? PRAY! Pray for peace, understanding. Pray for wisdom. Pray for kindness.
Do I want to? NO! I wanna stay mad!
Why? I have no idea.
For some jacked up reason we enjoying being mad. It’s like our defense, our standing up for ourself, taking a stand for what we belive to be right. Conceding is like saying what they did to hurt you is ok with you. We feel like it’s giving them permission to do it again.
Will they? It’s not your business. God will deal with them if they do something wrong. It’s not your job to.
You do you.
And allow God to guide you in the process.
